This two-hour workshop is for anyone who wants to safely and effectively embrace the playful, exploratory, and exhilarating nature of backbends and inversions — and cultivate courage and trust in yourself and your body along the way. Led by veteran instructor and 500-RYT Lou Chapman, this two-hour workshop will guide each and every participant safely and effectively into a deeper understanding and practice of some of the most energizing and heart-opening poses that yoga offers.

Accessible to all levels and students of all abilities, we’ll move step-by-step through a series of exercises and postures designed to strengthen your core, open your heart, create mobility in your shoulders and hips, and lengthen your spine. You’ll learn how to prepare your body for dynamic backbends and empowering inversions, as well as learn proper alignment, modifications, and the use of props for each posture.
