The nights are growing longer, and the holidays are almost here. It’s easy to get swept into the whirlwind, and just as easy to fill every quiet moment with a screen. But the short days aren’t an accident. Winter is nature’s invitation to slow down and turn inward, and when we never accept it, many of us end up carrying a restless anxiety we can’t quite name.

The Long Night is a chance to answer that call. Part yoga practice, part vision quest, part purification ritual, it’s one evening to set the phone aside, sweat, release, and listen for what’s been waiting beneath the noise.

The evening

The studio lights are low, candles flicker around the room, and for 90 minutes there’s nowhere else you need to be. We’ll move through three phases:

  • Heat. We begin with purifying breathwork and a strong, steady physical practice. This is tapas, a Sanskrit word for heat: the discipline of the mind and the fire of the body that burns away what no longer serves us.
  • Release. We open the spine, hips, and heart, then settle into a meditation where we offer to the fire the habits and patterns we’re ready to leave behind, making space for something new.
  • Intention. A guided visualization quiets the mind so the deeper, less conscious parts of you can weigh in. We’ll take time to journal what arises and set an intention for how you want to show up this winter, for yourself, your family, and your community.

You’ll walk back out into the dark lighter, clearer, and ready to meet the season with intention, maybe carrying a revelation of your own.

Who it’s for

Everyone. Fire and heat are the theme, but you’ll always be invited to be where your body needs to be, with modifications offered throughout. No prior experience with breathwork or meditation is needed.

What to bring

A journal for reflection. Your own mat and water bottle are welcome but optional.
